Multiplication Facts Extra-Short User's Guide


Multiplication Facts has built in help files which you access by clicking on the "Help" button at the bottom center.

The program defaults to "Study" mode where you can see and print multiplication tables for any numbers 0 - 12.
After you have studies your times tables, then you

This is the intro/splash screen that appears when you launch the program. Just click "OK" button to continue into the actual program.

Multiplication Facts Main Screen. This screen appears as after the program is launched and you have clicked OK on the splash screen.
All controls and options are on the left side of the screen (shown below).
The right and center of the screen is the display area which displays either the multiplication table to study, or the practice test questions.

This screen displays the Study Mode where you can review the times table for the selected Factor Value.
You can select any Factor from 0 to 12 for study.
If you wish to print out a copy of the times table, click on the "Print Facts" button at the bottom left.

At the top left is the Mode group of controls. There you select whether you want
to study a particular times (Factor) table, or interactively practice it.

At the left center is the Factor Value group of controls. There you pick the radio button corresponding to the number (Factor) from 0 to 12 that you wish to practice.
If you pick "Random" then problems for all Factors 0-12 will be selected at random.

The bottom button lets you print a sheet with the selected times table. Clicking on a particular problem on the study display screen will give an animated display of what the multiplication means.

Beneath the display area are three buttons:
"Info"-- will display the splash screen.
"Help"-- will display the help file.
"Exit"-- will quit the program.

right side controls for practice mode

When you click on "Practice Mode" radio button, another set of controls will appear on the right side of the screen.
The "Choose" group of controls at the top right contains a "GO" button which begins the practice session. The "Print Worksheet" button will print out an entire page of practice problems.

The "Timer Options" set of controls lets you determine how long you will be allowed to answer problems.
You can count up or down or not time the practice session at all.
The "Delay" slider lets you determine how long the program will wait between each practice problem.

Once you click "GO" the fun begins. The display screen will present you with a problem using the specified Factor. Enter the answer by clicking on the numbers underneath the display, or use your keyboard to enter the numbers.
At any time you can end the practice session by clicking on the "STOP" button at the upper right.
When the practice session is done, you are given the option to review any problems you missed.

If you missed any problems, at the end of a practice session this screen will appear.
Just click the "Review" button to see which problems you missed.

Additional features:

You can save set the maximum multiplier to use in a practice session

Missing functions and bugs:
No bugs known. Occassionally MS Windows crashes, but just restart the program.
